Dyeing: Sock yarn

I named this colour Crystal Clear since the colours remind me of extremely clear water such as that in the Whitsundays!

Dyeing: Rainy Day Projects

The last three days (all of it gray and rainy) was spent dyeing. Having only dyed once before (and not counting the exploding socks incident), it was fun to learn a new technique of dyeing! Also, the colours. I had so much fun with the colours. All these new colour combinations are floating in my head now.

This particular attempt is actually re-dying a previous attempt. The previous attempted resulted in a sad purple-based gray with some odd speckles of magenta and blue. The new yarn is still light in colour but now contains blues, greens and purples. Much better I find.

Only in New Zealand does one find ferns and glaciers in the same frame!

It’s a stunning view if one find themselves standing above the surrounding mountains! And we hadn’t even reached the peak yet! Apparently it’s a popular spot for skiing in the winter which is completely understandable what with the height of this mountain and the views but the curvy road on a dry sunny day was adventurous enough for me! 😀
